10am & My Dad's Smarts

so my sunday photo challenge was 10am - lucky for you all i was out of bed by then (its the weekend don't judge me, on the weekends i still wake up early -- the actually getting out of bed part is optional).

so this sunday i was actually already out and about. i headed to walmart to pick up a few things -- here's my 10am shot!

redbox a la walmart
yep i was returning a movie! last night i finally got to watch the help! i'm one of those people that HAS to read the book first and it took me a hot second to complete it -- not for lack of it being amazing, it was actually a really great read, but for a while gossip girl took over my life (i'm talking from the first season until now). so once that addiction subsided i was able to knock out the book. it then also took me forever to actually rent the movie - but its all good. so last night i was kinda happy i was watching it solo -- i cried like a damn baby!! i will say comparing book to movie it was actually reallllly well done. typically i get annoyed with the movie version of the book but even though it didn't get all the details it still did pretty wonderful job

two more missions occurred while i was at walmart -- first i needed carpet cleaning stuff to use alex'n'jasin's steam cleaner (bodie is a bit of a puker, not good for apt carpets!). second i was on a mission to find a solution to my keurig problem.

so a few weeks ago i purchased myself a keurig. MOST AMAZING INVESTMENT IN MY LIFE (okay minus my kitchenaid mixer - now thats a beautiful kitchen appliance). i literally said to my mother when i got it - "i think jesus made this appliance because its amazing" -- i know, too far right? anyways check out my beauty:

what a beautiful piece of plastic! he does need a name, hummm.
so then i of course went a little kcup happy:

YUMMMM and so easssy!
well those little cups are a little pricey - i'm not talking starbucks coffee every morning pricey but not as cost effective as just the regular coffee. enter fun little device seen below!

My K Cup Reusable Coffee Filter -- GENIUS!!
so once i saw this at the store i knew i needed one, then my awesome parents chimed in and said they had one they would mail me! awesome! my dad even ACTUALLY mailed it (anyone who knows my dad ((WHO WORKS AT THE POST OFFICE MIND YOU)) knows that he is terrible at actually getting the item promised mailed) -- i guess because it had to do with coffee he understood the urgency (i get my coffee addiction from my parental units - they have a baby keurig, a regular coffee maker and a starbucks style expresso machine on the kitchen counters at home -- excessive, maybe. awesome, YES!)

so i'm pretty pumped about this little guy so i bust out my dunkin donuts coffee (yum, MUCH prefer DD coffee over the 'bucks -- tastes like home to me!) and get to brewing. MAJOR FAILURE! the coffee grinds are all up in my cup of coffee - this is terrible! well i'm not about to waste it so i dump the grinds out of the filter thingie and the pour my coffee though it again into another cup, good as new!

this is still quite annoying to me and i then use a million coffee mugs too (i mean i have enough but doing dishes is not my fav). mission number two at walmart is to find something i can jimmy-rig to fix my coffee grind mess. of course walmart doesn't have what i'm looking for --- what exactly i'm looking for i'm not sure but i'll know it when i see it. my thoughts are a mesh strainer i can find in the kitchen section or some type of coffee filter. as i depart i sulk out and realize i'll probably have to find something online (don't get my wrong, online shopping can be great, but i'm impatient i want instant gratification when i buy something!) as i'm pulling out i see kmart, i'm not much of a kmart shoper but hey i'll give it a whirl. ENTER MINI COFFEE FILTER!!!!!!!!!

this little guy is a GEM!
how pumped was i to find this little coffee filter! you don't even know. it fits perfect and does a wonderful job getting out the grinds that escape my reusable k cup!

perfect fit kiddos!
i text a pic to my mom and told her that i felt like a genius (so humble of me) and she proceed to say i get my smarts from my dad, gotta love a man who can jimmy-rig just about anything!

well onto a day of carpet cleaning and coffee drinking!! peace, love 'n caffeine buzzzzzzz!
