weee! last night was AHHHHmamzing! alex and i ventured down to the Cannery Ballroom to check out one of the favs - the head and the heart! little story about THATH -- as i was departing the lovely city of seattle after alex and jasins wedding i was in line at the airport and had a local radio station playing on my iphone. and this delightful number title "lost in my mind" came on. it was everything i needed in my life at that moment. i immediately downloaded their album (while standing in line) and have loved the entire thing since. plus they are a seattle native band, even better! so as you know i chronically check ticketmaster/songkick to see if any of my favs are playing local. i had a bit of a celebration when i saw THATH were playing in nashville and had to make it happen. took a little convincing to get alex there, as it was a monday night concernt, but - not gonna lie-, i wasn't taking no for an answer!
alex and i (aka lola and pipper, our alter ego hipster names)
we had an amazing time surrounded
by hipsters (let me define):
Hipsters
are a subculture of men and women typically in their 20's and 30's that value
independent thinking, counter-culture, progressive politics, an appreciation of
art and indie-rock, creativity, intelligence, and witty banter.
OR
Someone
who listens to bands you've never heard of, wears ironic tee-shirts, and
believes they are better than you.
OR
Hipsters
are too cool for Urban Dictionary. You probably don't know what they use
because it's underground.
were also surrounded
by vandy trustafarians (defined as):
priviliged
white kids who subsribe to the hippie lifestyle (because they can) since they
have no worries about money, a job etc. They can then devote their lives to
eating organic and following indie bands
good scenery to
say the least. my favorite? the guy taking pics with his ipad.
the
opening band was a GEM! cory chisel and the wondering sons were great.
loved this song by them:
