ohhh heeeey, i'm bacccck!
okay still lots to catch up on, but lets get down to the present. I AM ON VACATION! for 2.5 glorious weeks. thus far the vacay has been a whirlwind already!
new find: dog park in the ATL airport!! how great is that! we usually fly through detroit with has a little cement block area for the dogs to do their business, but ATL has a little PARK! it was great, bodie now prefers his layovers in atlanta. one downfall: you do have to exit the airport and go BACK through security. complete pain in the ass but bodie felt much better (if you get my point) after a few moments in the park so that makes it all worth it.
the day i few in one of my best friends, Marissa, had her baby girl, Emma!! Marissa is the first of (what I consider) to be my best friends to have a baby, so super exciting. i'm sure the rest of the bests will follow soon. i'm totally okay with being the crazy aunt for now :) I went to visit Marissa and hubby Steve in the hospital yesterday. the new fam is doing well - they are going to make great parents!
first night home i got to enjoy chinese from my favorite local place, golden palace and my brother, his girlfriend colleen and my puppy nephew sarge came to visit. bodie and sarge are complete lunatics when they are together and tear up the house (this is quite thrilling to my mom) - i see dog park visits in our future.
first day home myself, my dad (who has had knee surgery so we get to spend lots of quality time together) and my uncle nicky (i think i will dedicate a future post just to him so any of my lovely readers will understand who i'm taking about when i refer to uncle nicky - he is a piece of work) headed to Pease Airforce Base in New Hampshire where my brother is on an active duty tour. it was family day on base, which included a sneak peak of the blue angels air show. for dinner, ted's fried clams (it is vacation and i shall eat whatever i want!)
yesterday after visit marissa in the hospital, my best friend Mallory and I headed to the Strawberry Festival in South Berwick. lots of fun little tents with local shops (think knock off american girl doll clothes, soaps, handmade jewelry, etc etc). we each picked up a few nick nacks (of course mine included homemade lobster treats for bodie james) and we catch got our pups a new collar. there were HUNDREDS to choose from, talk about overwhelmed and completely screwing with my decision making ability! bodie is now rocking a red, white and blue collar in honor of the upcoming holiday - he is a patriotic little guy!
now off to sit by the pool for the day and do a little shopping with the mother later. you really can't beat vacation!
